Apr 26

The sales funnel has been an integral element of traditional business and marketing for times untold. Recently, however, it seems that funnels are getting discussed everywhere online.

Many people want to know more about the marketing concept and the ways it could be used in their online business marketing strategies. Continue reading to learn more about the sales funnel and how it can be used to effective Internet marketing.

What is the Sales Funnel?

A marketing funnel does not actually refer to the concept of a funnel. The use of the term "funnel" for this marketing concept is simply to help visualize and explain a sales process from the beginning to the conclusion. Since it has a broad entry way for potential customers "Unqualified prospects" on the top and an even smaller opening to convert sales at the bottom the funnel can be a precise comparison.

The top of the funnel or entry point to the funnel will be who we may consider as "unqualified prospects" These are people who might require your products or services however, you've not yet contacted them. After a series of sales calls and offers, you have reached people who have bought your product or services.

Another reason why the idea of the lead generation funnel is effective is that it makes it possible to monitor your potential prospects actions at different stages of the expanded sales process. The sales funnel allows you to predict the number of potential customers that will ultimately be customers by determining the prospects who are qualified at each step.

The sales funnel lets you to identify where your sales process is failing and succeeding. It also helps you determine if your campaign isn't reaching the right customers. This information will allow you to decide where to focus your efforts to help reach your goals in marketing. It is used to gauge and manage the customers sales process.

The Sales Funnel Top, Front or End

The uppermost part of your sales funnel will be the most active part of your process and requires the most constant testing. There are literally no end of front-end concepts. Your imagination and resources are your only limits.

The primary purpose of the front end will be to pull in prospective clients and convert them into buyers later in the sales funnel.

A potential customer is "qualified" when they sign up to your product or service. This is the point in the sales funnel where the potential client or "Unqualified prospect" becomes a qualified leads due to the actions they've taken which show they are sufficiently interested to buy your product.

To make your front-end effective, you need to direct targeted traffic to your website, blog, squeeze page, or blog. The most efficient methods and resources to accomplish this are article marketing, PPC adverts, social media (Google+, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) banners and forums, blogging, content marketing and more.

There are a variety of ways to "qualify","qualify" the "Unqualified prospect". One of the most efficient methods is to use an online squeeze page, where you can offer something of value that is relevant to your service or product which people can receive at no cost or at a at a significantly reduced cost in exchange in exchange for their name and email. There are many products available, including newsletters, videos, emails, courses, eBooks, and related reports.

The front-end of your sales funnel is the point where potential customers are attracted to you. The back-end is what we should be focusing on.

The Bottom or Back-End of The Funnel

The back-end, or bottom of the sales funnel are where the major profit and sales take place. It is where you will typically find more expensive products there. These products would all be suitable for the same market, however they are delivered in different formats, such as audio, video and live interactions.

The main difference between the front-end service and the back-end is the kind of service or cost of the client.

Although it's true that a very small percentage of people will be able to enter your front-end, only 1-2% will be able to make it into your back-end. This is fine, as this small group will be investing much more money.

It's clear that while front-end products or services can be priced under $100, back-end products and/or services are often priced between the 100s and 1000s. The bottom or back-end of the sales funnel is your main source of revenue for an Internet company. This is also the most predictable area of this sales process.

As I said in the past the sales funnel is as flexible as your creativity and resources allow.
